Leanne Xiu Williams

Leanne Xiu Williams is an emerging artist who lives and works on Gadigal land (Sydney). She is a self-taught painter and Art History graduate from the University of Sydney. She is inspired by people and the way that they relate to their surroundings and one another, and she explores this across a range of subjects, including still life, portraiture, and figurative work. Through her artmaking she hopes to capture intimate moments in time by paying careful attention to the interplay of light and shadow and creating evocative tonal compositions. It is through these material qualities that her work alludes to experiences beyond representation, invoking memories, dreams, and sensations.
